The game was an instant classic, with both teams giving it their all and leaving everything on the court. The Orange came out strong, with Tyus Battle and Oshae Brissett leading the charge. The duo combined for 35 points, with Battle scoring 18 and Brissett adding 17. The Terrapins, however, refused to back down, with Anthony Cowan Jr. and Jalen Smith keeping their team in the game with their impressive shooting and rebounding.

A Game of Runs

Despite the Terrapins' best efforts, the Orange were able to hold on for the win, thanks in large part to their stifling defense. Syracuse held Maryland to just 36% shooting from the field, including a paltry 25% from beyond the arc. The Orange also outrebounded the Terrapins 41-36, with Paschal Chukwu pulling down a game-high 12 boards.
